There’s already an envelope budgeting tool called You Need A Budget that’s well known in the personal finance community, making this naming feel intentionally misleading. This tool is also not how the envelope system works. It’s not an envelope per day, it’s an envelope per category.

I want to assume best intentions here but this project is raising some major red flags for me and I haven’t even looked at the source code. I even kind of wonder if its AI…

I am not aware of any tool with the same name. I just found out about YNAB.com. I thougt the term YNAB is indeed broader used in the personal money management world. However my simple system does not assign income to a budget. It just answers the question, how much can I spend today, without fear of unsifficient funds at the end of the month. Since I went from 5 EUR a day to over 100 EUR a day in just a year, I thought it might be usefull for other people. If it is not for you. No problem. BTW no AI was involved in this. Anyway thanks for the response. I will think of a better name for this tool.

Indeed no AI, and no forging on commit dates. I will think of a better and more appropriate name for this little piece of software. Thanks for the reply.
