The current community here on world will stay open. I have no plans of shutting it down unless the community decides it should.

I didn’t get to vote, and if I had the new name would have been get off my lawn.
I’m not sure being a curmudgeon is very dull, but that would make for a fun community for older people to reference when someone says something like “til people didn’t have x until 20 years ago” etc. Maybe you should make it!
