Nobody even asked those who you consider minorities if they really want or need the master branches of the code repositories to be renamed to main branches.
That’s admittedly a bit silly. But what about “master/slave” configurations of servers or app instances? It’s a bit more naked what the analogy is in those cases, and “main/standby” is arguably more informative anyway.

Nah. Musk and Trump are firing people doing the work, not asking for modest changes to language used. That’s a huge difference
Moreover, the ideas conveyed previously were still conveyed, just not using stigmatizing language. Now, they don’t even want you to convey the idea.
