I’ve recently been doing some instant coffee with milk and it is really fucking good. Around February I wanted a bit of a classic snack the way my grandparents would, some sweet bread with instant coffee. So I got myself some. I had forgotten the powdered creamer, so I used milk. I was pleasantly surprised.

    Advocates of the speciality coffee movement want to share the joy of elevating coffee from a daily medication to a highly pleasurable and nuanced experience that can be full of variety, and simultaneously respect for the plant and the process of bringing great beans into our home kitchens.

    I respect that, since I’m already grinding my own specialty beans, albeit only using an aeropress. But at the same time, I’m not turning my nose up on the simpler “ignorant” joy of instant coffee., simply because I learned, made, and tasted more and more specialty coffee. Or “instant” anything from hobbies / movement that want to share the joy of elevating [insert thing here].
