The tops are a different color than the bottom of the same tree. I have four of them i rescued. And I’m afraid that I should have covered them this winter. Southern Wisconsin.

    To be honest, I’m not sure what they are. They grow inside the fence at cell tower sites. Pretty sure birds poop the seeds out, they land in the gravel and some grow. Some sites have a bunch of them.

    They just get sprayed, so i pick a few here and there. These four are the oldest ones I’ve been able to keep alive.

      I think that’s what it is, but I’m not too familiar with this species and its potential maladies. You could try cross posting to [email protected] to see if another arborist sees it there but I don’t know of any on Lemmy unfortunately.
