Maybe it didn’t have the limiter because it’s not specified to be able to go above anyway?
Congratulations on the upgrade, I haven’t tried it myself, but I’d imagine it was amazing. 😀

That’s an American law
It doesn’t make sense an American standard would use km/h.

Article:
This limit at 250 km/h dates back decades and has origin in Germany.
You:
so vehicles weren’t faster than police vehicles
Also you:
I don’t think manufacturers are willing hobbling their vehicles.
Article:
They reached a gentlemen’s agreement to electronically limit the maximum speed of its models to 250 km/h.
I find it weird that a rental wasn’t limited to 250 km/h. Which most factories do by default. In fact it should be limited to even lower than that IMO.
It’s way faster than most cars can drive. Even high end performance cars often have a limiter at 250 km/h.
Here in Denmark, the legal limit on high speed roads is 130 km/h,and if you drive 200 or faster, your car is immediately confiscated, and you lose your drivers license.
Many electric cars are limited to 160 km/h. Even cars that have more than 200 hp.
So in short 300 is about twice what most would consider responsible.
The breaking distance is 550 meter or more than half a km, in ideal weather with no slopes, and a response time to push the brakes of only half a second. That’s almost 5 times the breaking distance compared to driving 130 km/h (113 m).
Just in the half second to respond, the car will have moved 42 meters at 300 km/h!! Or about a third the legal high speed break distance.
it really is just people being xenophobic everywhere isn’t it?
That’s what it looks like to me. Italy too AFAIK.
We had a similar party here in Denmark, that became second largest party of the country with 21% in 2015, When the government introduced tough restrictions on immigration, they almost vanished a few years later, only very narrowly managing the 2% minimum requirement to have seats in parlament.
The popularity of the party was highly based on limiting immigration, much like Brexit, Trump, AfD and AFAIK also RN of France.
I think it’s more about the fraud rate
AFAIK there is less fraud on sex pages than on facebook.
Also if that was the case, why weren’t trade with capacitors treated the same way in the 90’s?
It’s a Victorianism syndrome,
Poor Law Amendment Act of 1834—were introduced for the moral reform of paupers
Where morality has nothing to do with actual morality like in whether it is doing harm. But everything to do with government making decisions over your private life and your body.
This mindset is disgusting, immoral and childish. And it so permeate everything about most English speaking countries culture for some reason.
It’s a kind of a thought police, that has no base in actual morality. But in bodily inhibitions and insecurities, supported by superstitions about an old man in the sky who disapprove.
So anything having to do with naked skin and sex is a nono. Even if it’s not actually sex but only loosely related to it, like being gay or trans.
If they were really serious about this sex thing, stating to be CIS should be exactly as problematic, and pushing the thought of marriage on children would be extremely immoral, because that too indicates sex. Which has almost become the sole purpose of marriage under the moral standards of Christianity, as it’s the only allowed form of sex.
So in short, the answer to your question could be boiled down to “brainworm”.
There is no logic or moral explanation, that doesn’t boil down to inhibitions, control and religion.
OK I didn’t know that.
Many things like shoes could easily be for both men and women, like for instance sneakers.
But with the different size standards, that can’t work.
The result being identical sneakers have a series for women and another for men! Although usually the colors are different. But what if we would rather have a choice of ALL the colors?
It’s not just stupid it’s moronic.
What’s the worst that could happen?
It’s good to see Valve is so invested in making gaming on Linux awesome. 👍 😀 😎
What annoys me is that this was an issue as far back as the early 90’s. On DOS and Windows 3.11. It’s such an annoyance that I don’t get how this problem still exist?!
If the unmount function can see if write is finished, a file copy function should obviously be able to see it’¨s own copy state.
You can use sync in terminal. But it’s tricky because it sometimes returns even when the writing isn’t finished.
My method is to use sync multiple time, if it returns immediately 2 times it should be clear,
Only then do i dismount the stick, because I don’t like to dismount a device with pending operations.
But when the dismount says the stick is ready to be removed, you should be clear.
i bet MANY people are left with halfway stuff written on their usbs after being in a rush and removing it insecurely on linux after the transfer is “done”.
AFAIK it can actually destroy the USB if it’s removed while being written.
I’m using X11 so that could be. I just don’t get why it would be different between X11 and Wayland?
File transfer progress bars generally aren’t worth shit, I have no idea how this is still a problem. It dates back to the early 90’s, and it’s still not done properly.
Almost everything to do with file transfer report it to be finished before it actually is, because it doesn’t consider write back cache. So it’s only the reading part that is finished, not the writing part. Meaning the transfer isn’t actually finished.
Never never never trust it is my motto. Personally I’d rather not have the dysfunctional progress bar, if I could have an actually accurate completion notification.
PS: I just switched back to KDE/Plasma after many years. Overall I’m pretty pleased, but also a bit puzzled about a lot of the simplifications.
like inability to disable caps lock, and the inability to change double click speed for the mouse. So now I need a startup command for the caps lock, and I needed to edit an ini file for the mouse for such simple things, that used to be accessible through settings???
But they finally added the ability to use numpad for hotkeys, which I found out, and was what made me switch back to KDE. Now I only miss the ability to use the scroll wheel on hotkeys too. To finally have similar functionality like I had 10-15 years ago with Compiz. 😜
Failing to feed and look after animals you are responsible of is animal abuse and illegal.
A completely redesigned PC based on free and open standards and low latency technologies throughout to maximize real time capabilities.
As it is, the busses are too slow to enable for instance a good PC based oscilloscope. And there is not an open bus like for instance on Raspberry Pi.
It would need to abandon X86, maybe a modern Alpha could do it. Alpha is basically a better API than X86, and they were way faster, until they were cancelled to promote Itanium instead. Risc V would be another option.
Such a project however, would probably have little chance of succeeding no matter how good. Because software would be needed for success, and to attract software it needs to be successful.
But it should be a system that invites creativity through openness and capabilities. A bit like the Amiga allowed by being open in the 80’s, but not owned by any single company. Amiga did all sorts of stuff no other computers were capable of, because it was open and better at real time tasks than anything Intel had.
The price estimate for the project including designing new CPU and Custom chips, would be about $10-50 billion. And probably closer to the 50!!!
That you’d have to ask Audi about. I just know they do it.
