The person that inspired this message will never change. You have to treat them as if you were a lawyer, and they are a hostile witness. Ask them one question, then follow up with another, until you have your answers. Problem is, they will probably catch on pretty quick and leave you unanswered.
We understand that fully 1/3 of our population are absolutely bonkers. It’s like being in a boat at sea and 1/3 of the passengers are drilling holes in the bottom of the boat. What the rest of the world should know is that no matter how fucked it seems at the moment, it is going to get worse. We are on the precipice of a climate catastrophe. The AMOC is going to grind to a halt, Europe is going to go into a deep freeze, weather patterns globally are going to fall apart and become chaotic. The real problems are in the distance, so you should prepare yourselves.
I had a medical procedure in my early 20’s where they put a camera up my urethra. Prior to the procedure they filled it with lidocaine or something similar so I did not feel a thing. The purpose was to get a look inside my bladder. It was not a pleasant experience with a frequent urge to pee after a terrible urge that produced perhaps a drop or two. This went on about every 15 minutes for the rest of the day. It was misery. So when I hear of another side to the story had they not filled me full of lidocaine. I can’t help but be amazed at what a difference perspective makes ones experiences, and how that can inform the rest of our lives.
