It was never going to happen. To make actual change people have to be willing to sacrifice. And no one is, the richest of us least of all.

For a while I was holding on to sanity thinking “he’s an idiot and he’s just drawing attention to himself.” But now, to anyone that was still thinking “maybe he really is that clumsy, maybe he didn’t really mean it”, this is it. If you’re not getting it now you never will. He’s literally, in the literal sense of literally, a Nazi.
Boomer vs Millennial, Black vs White, the list goes on.
If there’s any reason to hope for an afterlife it’s that Ea-Nasir might be aware, thousands of years later, that his shitty copper gave him eternal worldwide fame.
For me, much better than that is that I’m working 100% from home now. I do my laundry on my lunch break, feel super relaxed while working, listening to a podcast of my own music. Also huge: no commuting.
I have an agreement with my boss that as long as I’m more or less available during office hours it’s fine if I take an hour to take a walk or get groceries. I even go to do sports twice a week now during office hours. (hours I compensate by working a bit extra where needed or when I have some time left)
The job itself is not the best career choice. I’ve been offered to 50% higher salary at other places but that would mean full time office, maybe one day per week WFH for some. They can forget it. My life has never felt this peaceful.
Well hats off to the flight attendants I must say
Now I didn’t fly much before I was born, I’ll admit, but my first guess would be that this is a photo taken for an ad, not an actual flight in progress.
At this point I’ll take a shadowy international cabal controlling every aspect of our lives over whatever the hell is going on in our politics.
Don’t get a 50 series card. If you must upgrade I’d go for a second hand 40xx. But honestly with a 3080 you’re perfectly fine for now if you’re not married to ultra 4k 144hz.
I’m on a 3070 and it does fine for most games. That said I don’t play a lot of AAA titles but the ones I do play fine at medium or high settings mostly.
Also I used to dual boot, but since about a year I moved to 100% Linux and have only had the occasional issue. Mint with Nvidia send l seems to work pretty well these days.
But what if i need to commute 600 miles to work and back every day and on top of that once a year I drive a million miles to my vacation home? Checkmate!
I for one love gaming. Also memes about how old people are stupid and deserve our scorn. Love those too.
And there it is. Embedding proprietary foreign software you have no control over on all levels of your infrastructure. Now you’re screwed.
Corporations are not allies. They never will be.
If she’s 17 now she hasn’t aged a bit in the last 7 years, impressive. (picture from another thread)
That and it’s more convenient scapegoating of “those dang foreigners”.
I think the point is not so much that the US should be giving more, but that Trump’s constant complaining the the world owes the US and that the US is the only country so overburdened by spending on foreign aid is bullshit.
Also, I don’t think per capita expenditures automatically increase for smaller populations.
Do you think a large majority of Trump voters (not the vocal, terminally online ones) are actively hoping for an end to democracy? No, they’re just misled by someone who pretends to be on their side. And to turn the tide we need them back on our side. You think they’re going to be convinced by us shouting “fascist” at them? Obviously not. So what’s your plan to control the narrative?
Trump has a plan. Unlike the tone deaf democrats who even now don’t seem to be able to present a message that normal people are interested in. They’re seen mostly as defenders of the status quo. The status quo that forces folks to work 3 jobs to make rent, then Trump comes along and shouts “death to the status quo”. Just repeatedly shouting back “Trump is evil” isn’t going to cut it.
From my POV a huge one is that we can’t all own a several-ton personal vehicle. This is something people will not give up on in the near future, not even in my country which is eminently walkable, bikeable and with fairly good public transport.
