  • I don’t know if this applies but I did the switch to Linux a coupls weeks ago (To Linux Mint, because beginner friendly).

I’m curious with tech stuff but I’m not tech savvy in any way shape or form.

Thing is, the in way to connect to my Google drive sucked hard. On windows I would install the program and be able to access it like any drive. On Mint there is a GUI way to connect to your Google account, but it is so slow that it took a PDF solid 2 minutes to load each page. So no way to work with that.

So I needed a solution, which I found by installing rclone and setting it up.

That was a stupid amount of work and command lines I realy did not understand at all (this was my time using the console).

  • Ah, might be my wired humor kicking in. I just found it hilarious to find that T-shirt on Amazon of all things. It’s like a Butcher selling Vegan cakes. Amazon is like the Anti-Thesis to Unions, but happy to make a buck selling the line.

It felt like a “discount etsy agitprop” moment to me. Just shows how ridiculous capitalis is, realy.

But than again, I am wired sometimes. My humour doesn’t always translate. Oh well.

  • I’ve used Windows 10 since it’s release. I had to reset it twice because I had a virus, which very much was my misstake. Other than that it did just work fine.

I’ve switched to Mint 2 months ago and I am troubleshooting a lot. Most of that comes from inexpeariance, but the point still stands.

Windows is more or less stable most of the time.

  • Total War Warhammer 3

The problem is that I play it exclusively in Multiplayer and my buddy and me have to start it with the same mods and trough the same mod manager. I get the manager to run using wine or bottles, but I I can’t click the play game button.

So, for now at least, double boot it is.

  • I came 1.5 years ago when reddit fucked up big. Read about Linux here a lot, but not engaged much with it. But since I can’t make the switch to Windows 11 I tryed out Linux Mint two weeks ago. Haven’t booted into Windows since then, but for one game i have to start using a mod Manager and that won’t run in Linux. Every other game I play, even with mods, works just fine. It’s fucking cool. And it’s so damn nice that I can decide exactly how it looks and feels. So, thanks for that Lemmy.
