Mittens, as if they were holding their hands out palm up. The thumb portions of the mitts (aka the hands spreading the cheeks) were drawn on, it seems.
Wow! Just got hit with a wave of nostalgia having not thought about my childhood chair like this in over a decade! Looks like a most excellent spot for the cats to enjoy - makes me want to look around ebay or something…
