I know ads are very hated here, but I wouldn’t be against an ad at a reasonable cadence to increase sustainability. Then create a pro version that gets rid of ads that’s like $2-5 a month or $30 a year. The real problem is the exploitation of this system like Reddit/Insta feeding an ad every other post. Or Twitter charging nearly $13 a month for a check mark.

The sync app got so much hate for having ads during the original migration, but a lot of us here are devs and we should definitely get paid for our effort and be able to maintain our infrastructure without our of pocket money.

Whether Gaza is entirely rubble in 2 years vs 4 years, it’s still rubble.

Whether Billionaires and corporations make 50% extra profits or 100% profits via exploitation of workers, it’s still exploitation.

If on day 1 of a presidency you can effectively have nationwide ICE raids and deportations, the previous administration allowed and helped in that in at least some capacity.

Listen man I myself am half white, it’s okay to accept that most white people right now are the cause of a lot of problems in society. They are very hateful racist people and it’s also okay for people of all skin tones to acknowledge that the majority of white help the police and the rise of fascism.

Don’t slip down this path of “they’re racist to white people”. Nobody here is racist to any individual white person based SOLELY on their skin tone. Nobody is judging you personally and you shouldn’t take it that way.

The Overton window has shifted so much in 4 years that 2024 democrats were definitely running on 2016 Republican platforms.

These next few election cycles

It’s very hopeful to assume there will be another set of elections in 4 years or even midterms in all 50 states. We should be operating as if there won’t be.
