  • This morning my COMM professor declared she saw it with her kids and it was a masterpiece, despite not having played Minecraft and “not caring that much for Jack Black”

Edit: since this post I’ve gone and seen the movie with some friends. While it’s not gonna be an award winner for their acting, it was still a really fun movie to watch.

I’m glad I saw it in theaters. There was a handful of older kids (like 15 ish) in the back having an absolute blast and the vibe was electric. The movie got a good laugh out of us a number of times. I saw it mentioned that Jack Black was “phoning it in” but I thought he did an amazing job. I went into this movie fully expecting to watch a shit show but was pleasantly surprised. Overall I’d absolutely recommend anyone to go and see it while it’s still in theaters

  • Lenovo earned a failing score because, per the report, it “failed to provide the full French repairability index for 12 of the 13 models… available in both the US and France.” Because the US PIRG was only able to score one device, Lenovo failed.

As such, it’s possible that Lenovo laptops could be more easily repairable than its F score implies, but Lenovo makes accessing French Repairability Index scores extremely difficult. As the report notes, France has required companies to post repair scores and information about repairability since January 2021. This could be an oversight on Lenovo’s part. Ars Technica reached out to the PC maker for comment and will update this story if we hear back. For what it’s worth, Lenovo scored a C last year, falling behind Asus, Acer, Dell, Microsoft, and HP.
