A PhD can be a pretty raw offer for most people STEM or not. There is the lost opportunity financially for many, socially, some psychological damage, damage to health, and that is assuming you find a job using your degree after you finish. Frequently you move from your degree to consulting which just lines you up for more chaos depending on the field.

Some people are trying to make things better but there are always professors who push against making things better because they ultimately need output as much as rhe student needs their degree, if not more so.

I have yet to recommend someone do a doctoral program though I am always sure to mention that my case and observed cases aren’t the only scenarios available.

30 plus here. I just started drawing everyday. Little gestures to work on people. I will caution you not to take too long of a break once you have a roll going. I worked everyday to get to a certain speed and skill level then stopped for a while due to issues and lost some skill but I can still draw okay.

As you improve there will be a difference between what you can see and what you can do, your perception will improve faster than your hands. This will be frustrating but every artist deals with it and it is a sign of clear growth. If you really like what you are doing that is great but if you bage what you have made and can only see mistakes, take note of the mistakes learn from them and move on. You have more to draw.

Also please study from photo refs and real people for a good while it helps build your understanding of how things fit in space and especially the structures people and animals.

Rednote is a Instagram like social media application. Tiktokers have been flocking to it in such numbers that it’s topping multiple app stores. Typically it is used by Chinese diaspora and mainland Chinese people to communicate but Americans are joining the app to protest the banning of tiktok.

Its causing a few issues for the social ecology of the app and the Chinese state is censoring and fencing off some of the content there as a result.

Its Chinese controlled and the US government dislikes the Chinese state. That’s pretty much it. Its pure spite for the US government.

Wasn’t just the corpos it was a joint project between the corps and the government. And in rebellion people are giving a rival nation full access to everything. If China had an obligation competitor you would be smart betting that they would’ve seen millions of holes before dawn just form people trying to spit in the face if tbe US.

Its a sensible protest, wtf is China going to do with that data that the US government and attached corporations wouldn’t do, right?

Its an ad campaign to hike up the price and demand for Ivermectin by people invested in its production.
