We’ll be more on equal grounds of opportunity if the market share is split evenly

Yeah I still think there should be websites and RSS (sorry about what happened BTW), but the top user was implying socials are useless for them. Most people have social media, but most also don’t have RSS.
I see, i’ll edit my comment, thank you
I meant to average users. You’re right that RSS is easier, but most of their target users have accounts anyway
They already have websites. And social media is much more accessible than an RSS feed
Also, didn’t alien.top do this and everybody hated it? (my memory is fuzzy though)
edit: i’m wrong, alien.top was hated because it created a bot account for each equivalent reddit user and this seems to post from the same account
I wouldn’t exactly like a bot filling communities. Arent humans posting better?
If only it were to mastodon. Though baby steps, i guess
It’s fine then. I’d recommend to steer against it since it’s obscure (also can’t access the site for some reason) and not FOSS. You’re better off using a local LLM
Is it not open source? That’s a tenet for posting in the community.
Its an app that uses no user ids at all. It’s probably the most private chat app available.
For more information see https://simplex.chat/
edit it exists now, enjoy for all your sharp images
You can’t have perfect privacy/security without going hermit living in the woods off grid.
Satellites. Nowhere is safe 😞
AEGIS RAHHHH🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🇰🇳🇰🇳🇰🇳🇰🇳🇰🇳 (THIS IS WHAT I GOT WHEN I SEARCHED AEGIS)
Well then i recommend addyio, bitwarden, tuta/mailbox/posteo whatever, and ente auth (or aegis/2fas but you need to manually back them up)
True security/privacy is impossible.
It is a compromise, and it all depends on your threat model; everything is probably “backdoored” some way or another.
However the productive thing isn’t 100% blocking these risks, it’s mitigating it. It’s not feasible to build your own processor, so for example, choose the least worse between Intel ME and AMD PSP. It’s sad that we have to live in a world where surveillance is everywhere, but this is how it is for now.
tl;dr: don’t worry too much about these, you’ll still be backdoored one way or another, what is important is making it harder for them
Its quite good. Its ran by a single person and is self hostable (I think).
There’s not much difference besides the plans, so if the proton controversy is enough for you to jump ship then by all means, do it
in my dms ofcourse 😊
