  • Take your dog for a walk if you’re able. Go for 2 or 3 a day if you can stand it.

Assuming you weren’t on the lowest dose of whatever med it was and you didn’t step down for fear of heart related issues, you might need a week or 3 to readjust to raw emoting.

Find a group you can join and talk to/listen to. Look for a CBT group, a local men’s group, a singles group maybe. Volunteer at a community/senior center if you can stand to.

Barring all those options being feasible, go find a 12-step group and bring donuts. Tell them you aren’t comfortable sharing just yet and sit and listen.

It’s unfortunately very natural to feel hopeless and helpless in these trying times, just don’t give up hope and be willing to accept help if it comes your way.

  • If you’re running a bunch of virtual machines or LLMs or something that needs a lot of RAM(video production/editing), it could be beneficial to run all 4 simultaneously if they’ll play nice with each other.

That said, it’ll certainly be slower than running the faster of the two kits in proper dual-channel mode for gaming. If you’re a novice or get easily fed up, I’d go with q. Be sure to activate XMP.

  • Add a smaller boot drive to run the OS and programs from, for sure. Maybe 2 if he wants to dual boot Windows and Linux(Steam OS full release is on the horizon).

If you can snag a 5090 in 2-3 days when they release, you’ll definitely be future-proofing yourself a bit more. There’s a liquid cooled version of the 5090 by Gigabyte that’s sure to be one of the best performing aftermarket variants.

I’d also swap the motherboard with the Asrock Taichi X870E, which is the best featured X870E board IMO. I’ve also had loads of issues with Asus products. Otherwise, it looks pretty maxed out. You win all the brownie points!
