Look, if they still have a cable box, they haven’t paid the bill in 25 years.
The Michael wave everyone knows:
I use FreeTube a lot, but wow the quality difference is insane.
OK, yt-dlp is awesome. It does things even beyond YouTube exceptionally well. The whole downside is that not everyone is a data horder with the space for videos. If you don’t have a spare 5 tb , place the YouTube url into a Bing search - no ads, no login
The thing about grits is that they will basically taste like whatever you put in them. So to me, saying you don’t like grits says you don’t like what you put in them.

There aren’t many reasons at all to use Ubuntu over Mint, and in fact there are many downsides to Ubuntu these days (package management and installation being the worst). Get a USB drive with at least 4(?) gb of space and make a live install of Mint then give it a whirl. Odds are it will meet your needs without a lot of effort.
People have gotten confused and declared that any internet based activity that involves interaction is social media. I feel like this really needs to be said. OCD != being meticulous to detail. It isn’t “omg this spreadsheet is in the wrong order,” it is more like “I can’t fail to flick the light swith 3.5 times when I enter a room. I know that the switch gets left midway, but that is how I will obsessively leave it. If you change it, I will put it back to everyone’s detremint.”
