bollocks tbh. he has fuck-you money and yes-sir principles. let him eat shit
ah i remember doghouse being pretty good. also i nicked your format for my own, cheers for that
A Banquet (2022)
Eerie occurence in a forest under a blood red moon causes profound changes in a daughter recently bereaved of her father. A mishmash of folk, cosmic, and a bit of body horror. Looks gorgeous, very slow paced, not bad overall but kind of unsatisfying in an it’s-another-allegory-for-trauma sort of way. For food based folk horror The Feast (2021) is a better bet
Ginger Snaps (2000)
Rewatched due to getting a nice edition of the trilogy from Second Sight, pleased to find it holds up extremely well. It’s a darkly comic ultimately tragic coming of age story, neatly comparing and contrasting puberty and lycanthropy. Original take on werewolf lore, the transformation progresses throughout the film
Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed (2004)
Didn’t have high hopes for this but it was great. Hits some similar sex/hunger notes but is mainly more concerned with the resisting or giving in to addictions/obsessions/cravings/desires. Notable for a child actress performance from Tatiana Maslany playing a creepy young weirdo really well
Ginger Snaps Back꞉ The Beginning (2004)
leaving this for later, had enough ginger snaps for now
you won’t regret it
Fresh was great - first time i’ve seen a typo be a spoiler :)
I didn’t like X that much so I skipped Maxxine and Pearl, have you seen the others?
Razzennest (2022) Interesting and original idea but I didn’t like it much after all. Premise is the recording of an audio commentary track with pompous arthouse director going supernaturally wrong. Has funny dialogue and would make a good radio play / podcast if you speak English and German but I found it a chore to watch nothing much happening just to read the subtitles
Kinds of Kindness (2024) Anthology of three short films on the subject of abuse and control. 2hrs 45 in total and suffers a bit from the first one being the best. Pretty good overall but a test of endurance at times, if I watch it again it will be in three seperate parts
Terrified (2017) Argentinian haunted house spook-em-up. Pretty decent and quite brutal in places, the director’s more recent film When Evil Lurks (2023) is much better though
Wild Zero (1999) Wacky Japanese rock n roll alien zombie romp. You can probably tell from the poster if you’ll like this. I did.
while ago on a whim i bought the type of chin up bar that fits in a door frame. i’m a skinnyfat lazy bastard and am not motivated to exercise at all, but putting it up so it’s just there when you walk about the place makes it somehow more enticing than some equipment you have to specifically make time to use
never despair mate it’s already the funniest comm imo. they will come
shameful attempts are better than prideful ones
oh yeah, i should have closed it off
cheating a bit because i like black + white. but here
