I was on one of the last few planes into Italy before they locked it down. I did not keep up with the status, so I arrived with tape on the floors everywhere, noone around, just confused on how to act now. Went home and started to keep track of the graphs and numbers of the spread.
You are not uploading, others are downloading. The direction of traffic is the same, but the incentive is different.
Before torrents, there were services where you just announced “there are all my files just download what you want” and some places had quotas on how much you should make available for download. People were sharing all kinds of random trash and also downloading that trash.
A joke was – was it on like bash.org? – that you have some file you want to backup, you have to make people want to download it, so you just call it leaked_celebz_nudez.zip or something and it would be downloaded forever, even if it did not work because so much trash was shared and if could help your quota.
So you’d have to use the strategy in that joke. Make a torrent of your stuff, just encrypted so it is trash for anyone who wants to download it, but you’d have to make the torrent content so imcredibly desireble that even if the comments and ratinfs of the torrents goes to shit, people will still be downloading it in the hope it works. What would be that desireable though, I do not know.
I used to use WindowMaker as my windowmanager, there was a setting which had the comment “this is annoying”, which unless used, wm context menus may be rendered off screen, which is really fucking annoying. I was disrohopping a lot at the time, so it was always “install windowmaker, turn on ‘annoying’ setting”
That is almost what they are doing… The US embassy have been sending out letters asking all kinds of places in like Europe and Austrailia that they should follow Trumps executive orders. So I mean… Yeah. Maybe BBC also have gotten some letters.
This sound so illegal. Like I don’t doubt it, it just sounds like it should be illegal.

This is what Swedish unions did even more directly. A company hired labour from Latvia I think it was. The union showed up and said that thats all fine, but you have to pay them properly. None of them were members. They picketed the company for the sake of non-members wages. Why? To avoid social dumping down the line.
I was thinking something similar, like this looks like an AI Dunning-Kruger (if that effect even exists).

Our puppy only gets to greet visitors with something in her mouth. It was actually something she started doing and we just continued with it. People not too comfortable with dogs feel a bit safer that way. So cute when she realises “oh, new person! Get a toy! Quick!”
That is a bit of cheating, speaking as a phycisist. We say “if we add enough energy to system X thing Y will happen” about almost everything. :-)

They should make a usb-port with a spring in it which can be released with eject. Until then I have to be content with just making sound effects when I run eject on other devices.

I think it is wise to take extra care on this issue on what you read and trust.
