  • Hah I always confused the name with that one with the episode Disaster (had to look it up Picard and kids winning something), no wonder I rarely watched it. Cause I’m pretty sure they go up ladders in turbolifts in that one so just thought that was that episode. But I recall liking the backwards people starting fires. To be fair I don’t watch much TNG these days but still my favorite series by far (also haven’t watch a series since Enterprise so may need to catch up).

  • I bought it cheap one sale in the last…oh five years ago or so (time is funny at this age) but I definitely had that experience. Sometime I want to get really into it to check I out but know I’ll need to go invest in some training time to understand the mechanics to make the time seems relevant.

It reminds me of Gothic 1 really, it was brutal but a fun RPG, not as open as this one was(recall it being relatively small to even GTA 3 standards) but open for its era. Think I had to try killing a stupid mob for ages in that one, actually didn’t get fa but it was done so well at the time.

  • After trying to learn how to use a DAW (digital audio workstation) I end up listening to this so I can hear the same sound with slight variations. Eventually it gets to the same point as when you say a word too much and it starts to lose meaning. Seriously say something like 20+ times, it doesn’t click as the word unless you think about it. I’m sure for some people it does, but I’ve gone back to some trials later and thought oh that’s pretty close when I thought it was way off during my workings with it. The human senses aren’t as static as we think, but I probably just need more ear training to overcome it.

  • Huh, I was only 11ish watching it, I think I thought the first one was scarier or had a darker tone, the pool scene was a bit scary for one, maybe it was the music? Also they seemed much more menacing in 1 but it could have been due to the slapstick comedy it was sandwiched with in part 2 that made it feel less frightening.

All that said, I ended up watching Nightmare on Elm Street too young so that may have skewed my interpretation of scary. Yes younger than Gremlins 2, but I also quite enjoyed Nightmare on Elm Street and watched them all (well not 2 as much), so maybe just my experience.

If you’re a Star Trek fan the Voyager doctor is there for some comedy, if you’re a Smallville fan Lyonel Luthor is there…has a decent cast for the movie it is. Oh and forgot Christopher Lee too heh.

Haven’t watched it in years still.

  • Recently bought a bunch of courses on music theory…why? Cause I bought cubase and figured I needed to understand how to make things sound good together. Plus I’ve always loved music and it seemed like a mystery in my knowledge. Now spent more time learning music theory than in the program. It’s a fun process. Just hope the fun doesn’t run out…though been awhile in the making so to say, so maybe ‘this’ one will stay. heh.

  • Damnit I just got a 9800x3d, guess I’ll be good knowing I can upgrade to whatever gpu comes out that’s in the sweet spot for awhile. I do have a 3070 so not like I’m slumming it, but was really hoping that the 50xx series would be worth it. Guess it’s time to read up on ray tracing and dlss type features since I haven’t done that homework in many years now. Always seemed like Nvidia was better supported but maybe not the big difference it it appears to be. I have gone back and forth over the years anyways.

That’s why I started figuring out beginner courses / tutorials to figure out if I could grasp the basics on something. Though I’m a bit older, so maybe it comes down to being old and not wanting to waste as much time. Least if I don’t do good, I learned something. Did some blender one the other year to figure out some 3d modeling, was fun, then got distracted and haven’t touched it since. Was neat to understand the graphics side of things though.

  • Or it’s like a kid playing a game and interesting has a slightly different meaning. Yeah all my life forms thrived in harmony in my previous play throughs but this time I’m giving one of the smart ones a fun trait to make them incompatible with anything else to see what happens.

I did have the lid falling off thought when I first saw it though.

  • I used to quite enjoy the radio stations in Surviving Mars well a couple of them, apparently spent 145 hours in the game total. There may have been a few times it accidentally ran overnight from not closing but for what it was, it was fairly fun. Plus getting to turn Mars green always felt rewarding. I always played with chill locations though, never went for the hard runs, sometimes it’s fun to play like humanity succeeds.
