Husband, Father, Gamer, Nerd
If I knew how to attach pictures to comments there would be a picture here of my shelf that has one if these games sitting on it.
I have espoused views in my life I’m not proud of, but I think the same can be said of anyone.
Part of my journey was a search for intellectual consistency. Their are people of faith who are able to do that, I am not one of them. When it comes to politics, there are two contemporary thinkers (Ken White and Radley Balko) who forced me to re-evaluate my beliefs.
I believe there are many Conservative thinkers who hold their positions in good faith. Sometimes they are even correct! I believe there are also many Liberal thinkers who hold their positions in good faith, sometimes they are right also.
So to answer your question, I don’t think my values were bad, some of my thinking about how to implement those values definitely was though.
As with most people we morph over time.
I’m an old guy. I started my life as a right-wing Conservative Christian. I’m now. Both an atheist and an anarchist. So yes people change. My journey has been six decades long.
One of the fucking dumbest things any sport could do.
I’m a Preacher’s kid, now an atheist. But I have been wondering the same thing. It’s interesting I am not alone in that. In the last week I have seen the subject come up twice, once in this post and once at The Free Press.
Band of Brothers has a scene about this very thing. It is quite extraordinary to watch.
I’ve been playing Civ since the very first one. I got my start with it on the Amiga 2000.
Your concerns echo mine, but I also know that Sid rarely makes missteps. So while I’m concerned, I’ll wait until I actually get to play it.
I suffer night terrors, not horribly frequently, but frequently enough that they are memorable experiences. I wake up screaming and I apparently scream very loudly.
Entertainingly they have a common theme across all the years I’ve been having them (they started in my teens, so over 40 years). The always feature men in black leather trenchcoats (think SS), dogs, concertina razor wire, an cliff’s edges.
I always end up dead either from machine gun fire or going over the cliff.
I blame The Great Escape.
I would love to be able to wake up before the screaming starts.
When I was in high school, one of my friends had TRS Model II.
Sunday nights after church we would turn on KGON, dig out a programming magazine and type in the code presented there. Then play Pong, or Asteroids or whatever other game we had just “written”. When we were done, we’d save it to casette tape for later.
It’s hard to know what to say as you didn’t include your ages and my input would be far different if your were 20 than if you were 30.
I think you can get a plate that will allow you to attach that Yeti to your Packout!
