My biggest issue with Piefed is how much space the UI uses. Last I checked it didn’t have a “compact mode” like current Lemmy or Alexandrite. Browsing communities is also a bit awkward since it shows you so many topics without a way to sort or remove them.
I have! and it’s a great game but still not quite the level of HK
Sure, but my biggest problem with them is how expensive their games are and how they never go on sale. $70 was already pushing it, but now they might be asking $90 for physical game cards. Screw that.
I’m not OP, but Hollow Knight is a master-class of world design imo. The world is absolutely massive and seamlessly connected, it feels like it never ends until you finally reach the end game. Seeing it loop back on itself 10+ hours later is something I almost never see anywhere else.
The combat is also fairly simple but very tight. There’s a crazy amount of enemy variety and it has some of the most exciting bosses in the genre - especially if you’re going for the true ending. I played so much of the genre but nothing gave me the feeling HK did. I finished it 3 times.
This is the dumbest list I’ve ever seen. Are they intentionally messing with people? How is a game that just came out “most influential”? What did Minecraft influence other than half-baked clones? Shenmue provided the blueprint for open world games and, what, Ocarina of Time didn’t?
BAFTA continuing their streak of being on my black-list for being total nonsense.
Because MicroSD Express cards are more expensive. Saved you a click.
It’s crazy that it took so long. It was supposed to come out under a year after the 2nd one, and at this point I forgot what even happened in the last one.
This is the part where Disney blames bigots rather than admitting they just made a bad movie people never wanted to watch
Please yes. The average person doesn’t need an insane graphics card, if they can make an APU that’s affordable it’ll fly off the shelves.
Yes, I use it often and it works great now.
This is exactly what I wanted. I might make the switch now.
Discord is a terrible format to manage large, complex communities and projects
Terrible how, though? That’s exactly what it gets right. You have easy-to-setup roles and channel accesses, onboarding experiences for people joining a larger server, a huge ecosystem of bots for various purposes, etc.
okay, it is bad for not being indexable, but it’s good at what it does and it’s popular for a reason.
Articles like this are constantly like “if only there was something we can do about it” while omitting the thing people are doing about it because the writer is too lazy to research properly
Yeah I remember voicing this concern when all online communities seemed to be going to discord and people seemed to mainly laugh at me in response at the time.
Because there hasn’t been a single proper alternative until very recently, and even then they’re not as user friendly.
I have zero clue how they’re going to make a sequel. It was clearly supposed to be a one-and-done story.
But I did say that for Inside Out and got pleasantly surprised for the sequel so I might give Pixar some benefit of the doubt.
Discord already allows users on other platforms to hide in-app promotions for specific Quests, or opt out of personalized promotions. These options will also be available for mobile users.
Wonder how long that’s going to be an option… The way every tech company is going I’m fully expecting them to force ads on everyone in the next two years.
sure, but it was fanfiction in the sense that the whole story is centered around fan service. It was mostly “hey, that character you like is back!” and “oh my god, the villain people like made an appearance for 3 minutes!”. It didn’t feel like its own movie, just a collection of “give the fans what they want” scenes.
Spiderman no way home. Everyone was raving about it, when I finally got around to watching it, it turned out to be high-budget fanfiction.
