If you don’t like it and aren’t willing to speak up about it then she will most likely continue leaning in even harder over time due to not getting pushback and getting reinforcement from whatever led her down this path. It isn’t your job to keep her from becoming a terrible person, and if you don’t it is most likely going to get worse over time. In that case it would be better to move on so that you can have better friends.

I have never seen anyone who started open minded that leaned into bigotry turn it around due to friends they already had. They only ever turned around when they realized their bigoted friends were terrible people and regretting driving away the people who actually cared about the.

If a place is the logical one for me I make sure there is something physically there to confirm it is the right place. A key rack, colorful shallow bowl, a stationary object that I can associate with the tight place after 60 or so times, etc.

A place is only the logical place when I remember putting it there or it is the first place I checked. All other places can be logical, but aren’t the most logical place.

Some things take years for me to find the right place…

politics are all opinion-based, so our politics being on the opposite ends if the spectrum are understandable.

This is a view that is easy to hold when the political opinions have little to no effect on those discussing politics. Once one person’s view steps into fascism and other hate based ideologies that spread oppression and violence it isn’t politics, it is just spreading hate with a veneer of politics.

A significant number of people will throw other people to the zombies to save themselves in the short term, and it only takes one in a group to screw the whole group over. This would be sorted out fairly quickly as people won’t have patience with bad actors in a harsh environment. Putting people to death for crimes that put the group in danger is likely to be common since exile risks a malicious person coming back to sabotage the group.

Small bands of horrible people raiding other places would probably be a lot less common than in media though, because they would be putting themselves in harms way more often than those that hunker down. Risks of flat tires, running out of fuel, etc. means more walking and other means of travel that risk running into zombie hordes.

So yeah, the overwhelming trend will be cooperation with a huge emphasis on honesty.

I opened a bottle with a swiss army knife corkscrew once to see if it was a difficult as it appeared and it was an adventure. Maybe with some practice it would be easisr, but it shredded the cork because the tiny handle was hard to keep straight and the pulling action was hard to keep straight. Had to use one of the screws that sits on the lip to keep itself straight to get the rest of the cork out.

I also have some extremely useless skills, like the corckscrew.
