That’s it, I’m filtering all the posts with “remaster” on the title.

Actually I’m in my 20s myself. I just can’t see games like Call of Duty 4, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, GTA 4 and The Last of Us as retro when they are largely identical to what we would expect from a modern AAA title.
2007 was a long time ago, but not much has changed since then in mainstream big budget game development.
I honestly don’t agree with that at all. 360 and PS3 are old but their games aren’t very different compare to the big budget games of today. A few fads ended and others took their place, but that’s it. To me retro systems end with the Wii, mainly because Wii was just an overclocked Gamecube.
This year the original SMB will be forty years old.
There are alternatives to YouTube though, there are a lot of them. It’s just none of them are viable for the viewers because content creators are hell bent on never using anything other than YouTube. To the point I believe they aren’t actually bothered by YouTube’s problems and only occasionaly complain about it for easy views.
Personally I don’t care anymore, YouTube’s problems don’t affect me. As long as PipePipe works I’m happy. And if it stops working I’ll just stop watching YouTube, or just minimize my usage to the extent it’s possible.
Lemmy already came such a long way though, when I first tried using it, it was a barren wasteland. Federated social media is the only kind of online platform that can brute force it’s way into viability so I’m confident Lemmy will continue to grow or remain big enough to satisfy it’s users. It just won’t be as big as Reddit.
I really hope Reddit keeps on its road to enshittification so more people realizes what kind of shit hole it is and more open to try the fediverse they would be
I don’t see this ever happening to be honest. Considering how much shitter YouTube has been for so much longer I don’t believe most people online will ever leave the mainstream platforms.
I believe fediverse will be like Linux. It’ll always have a dedicated userbase large enough to sustain itself, but it won’t be big like the proprietary platforms. And that’s ok.
I heard about Super Meat Boy quite a bit, it always popped up in must play indie games lists. I never heard of Trine before, so it’s definitely not the same.
I don’t think compiling from source is easy even on Linux. Whenever I try it whatever program I’m trying to compile just refuses to compile, even though I seem to have all of the necessary programs for it. I can’t recall successfully compiling anything other than suckless tools, which have basically no dependencies.
Isn’t AnimeBytes one of the hardest private trackers to get into?
I was beginning to fear the channel ran it’s course, this looks amazing. I hope it’s a sign Uncle Derek hasn’t ran out of topics yet.
I think I actually like it more than Super Mario Kart.
I never felt the need to use a GUI for it, it’s very easy to use.
Also the site itself is ancient, searching for stuff sucks over there.
Personally I don’t agree regarding the dualshock, all though I play a lot more 2D games than most so I’m biased.
Personally I don’t see how Dualshock’s subjectively sub-optimal analog stick pla–ement compares to N64’s mess of a controller.
360 is AAA slop, I refuse to recognize that thing as retro.
Doom is the best retro game commnunity.
Perfect Dark Remastered on PC is all I need.
There is no benefit to using Firefox unless you really like uBlock Origin and will not consider another kind of adblocker.
Mozilla is just controlled opposition lead by the same greedy executives as Google anyway, using it won’t make a difference. It’s at best 3% market share won’t stop Google from pushing their crap to everyone else either.
Problems of the modern web in general cannot be solved by just another browser engine. What it really needs is simplification. A way to make it do what it does now but faster and in a way that is easier to implement, but I don’t see anyone doing that in the near future.
I do this with Blazing Chrome, it works in my case.
