I got apple tv for a bit, I bloody loved Ted Lasso (heart warming comedy), Masters of the Air (band of brothers in the sky) Mythic Quest (hilarious). I’m also half way through The Line, a documentary on an army seal accused of murdering multiple people and I’m GRIPPED

Ripley wins hands down. That would be true if only for the cinematography, but it is for so much more too.

Another comment mentions Slow Horses, and I’d agree on that. Great fun.

Wolf Hall is another with excellent writing and performances.

And Shrinking, which has far exceeded my expectations.

Then a single episode of Agatha All Along stood out. Ep 7, I believe, without checking. Great use of non-linear storytelling. The rest of the season was entertaining, but nothing more.

Baby Raindeer also had a standout episode. You’ll know it when you hit it. Despite the controversy about the events this show was based on, it contains plenty of truth of its own.

Finally, we are rewatching the 1979 Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. Both this and the more recent film version are excellent from the first scene. This one still holds up fantastically well decades later.

I haven’t watched any Silo yet, but I’m a big fan of Adam Savage, and seeing his videos and enthusiasm on the prop ans set design for the show has definitely piqued my interest.

The one that was completely unexpected was “Slow Horses.” I started one of the books and found it embarrassingly snarky. I tried the first episode and was meh, but decided to give it a try.

Incredible acting, brilliant plotting, and fantastic action. I love a good fight scene and the show delivers.

Another bolt from the blue was “School Spirits.” Teenage girl dies in her school and comes back as a ghost. Turns out that her school has dozens of ghosts.

Not from this year, but I always push them. “Lost In Space” on Netflix. Watch some of the 1960s originals then watch the reboot. They took the silliest show on TV and made it smart. Parker Posey is a fantastic villain.

“Black Sails.” All the sex and violence of GOT with a faster pace

    In no particular order:

    • Slow horses (as said by others, but I really love it too)
    • Severance
    • The white lotus
    • English teacher
    • The penguin
    • Ripley
    • Smartypants
    • Dungeons & drag queens
