Wait that doesn’t make sense. Warhammer 40k minis are cool, and she is not.

Playing tank & mech battles with grown men is interesting, and she is not.

Is she implying that men aren’t interested in anything? Including women? Because I find women very interesting. I might be single, but that’s because right now I’d rather paint minis and work out then have conversations with a shoe.

She’s showing the double standard that (some) men believe women don’t have hobbies

Yes, seriously. They think that women will only engage in something to get male attention. Makeup and fashion? They do it to be beautiful and to impress men. Sports and video games and other hobbies men might like? They’re faking it, to impress men. (Women must prove they have genuine interest usually by naming off facts or other tasks.)

It used to be a lot worse, but that attitude is still there.

So like these guys clearly don’t have grandma’s that quilt, or crosstich or paint, or play old people sports?

It explains the rise of male toxicity. No grandma to teach 'em to be kind.

They literally do not think of quilting or crossstich and such as hobbies. They’re not “important” like woodworking or rebuilding engines.

This is why STEAM (STEM + arts) is important.

Jesus. So I talked with my Dad, cause I literally had no idea about this.

He said exactly this: “Then I think your mom and I did a pretty good job raising you. Yeah. What they really believe is that women can’t have anything. Independence, rights, careers, hobbies, property, education, anything but a husband, children, and chores.”

I knew about the remainder of the stuff, but hobbies seems so impossible to prevent. How would someone not get bored to death without them?

I know a few women who don’t. They tend to be the workaholic types who go home at 10pm to a lean cuisine and a Netflix subscription. I know a few men I can describe similarly.
