Summary:

I feel like how much you like this movie depends on how much you value and relate to the references. Like basically every movie based on a video game (especially something as open ended as Minecraft) the plot on its own is severely lacking. All of these movies rely on the familiarly aspect and like those this movie was successful in that. I was honestly surprised they did not shove more references in given how easy it would have been and the fact that they did not even mention the end makes me think they have a 2nd and 3rd movie in mind.
What if you remade the Jumanji remake, but instead of actually writing, you just fill 2 hours with references and “haha just kidding” jokes.
