Baptism is not a means of “salvation”. It’s a sacrament that is rich with symbolism and is, for many Christians, the inauguration of their relationship with the church. That said, there’s nothing magic about being baptized.
It’s also important to understand that God loves you for you and does not care about your sexual orientation. While I think we are called to have a healthy respect for sexuality and the gift that it is, a person does not need to try to change their sexual orientation to have a relationship with God.
