I keep seeing and reading things like the Bible, and keep seeing people get saved by baptism.
To be saved by the Holy Spirit, but are they any were baptized and still gay?
I’m a little scared of it, tbh.
Baptism is not a means of “salvation”. It’s a sacrament that is rich with symbolism and is, for many Christians, the inauguration of their relationship with the church. That said, there’s nothing magic about being baptized.
It’s also important to understand that God loves you for you and does not care about your sexual orientation. While I think we are called to have a healthy respect for sexuality and the gift that it is, a person does not need to try to change their sexual orientation to have a relationship with God.
Are you asking if after being baptized, you’d still be gay?
If so, no, you will not suddenly be straight. Being baptized doesn’t change who you are. It really doesn’t change much of anything, as it is just a symbolic religious ceremony.
Baptism is just some old guy splashing water on your head.
It means as much as you want it to.
From what I’ve read, baptism isn’t what saves you. Salvation isn’t even something that humans can earn by doing something. It’s a gift that we can either accept or decline. In the same way you don’t automatically go to hell for being a sinner, otherwise we’d all be fucked.
We all ARE fucked unless we accept Jesus and his sacrifice
I was baptized as a child.
Still turned out gay. I don’t follow religion as an adult.
You’re still you after you get baptized, there’s really no “magic” to it. It’s kind of like two people getting married. They do a ceremony to let everyone know they’re committed to each other, but they are still both the same people.
