My bed had been squeaking every time I moved on my side and I’d wake my partner up every time I’d get up and get back into bed.

So today I took off the mattress and fastened all the screws and those round ikea things all their stuff has. It’s now much better but the backboard still makes a small sound but I can’t figure out where it’s coming from.

I once unscrewed all fasteners on my bed and rescrewed then with small pieces of cloth or paper, whatever fit better.

    No squeaking since. Very relaxing.

you can get fiber washers at your local home improvement center. If you’re routinely stressing the joints on the bedframe, the fiber washers last a lot longer than paper.

I screwed L-brackets (I think that’s what they’re called) into each place the frame joined. That also worked. The bed felt less wobbly after too, but I think that was just the halo effect.
