mods there have historically gone overboard with bans. One person said “dude is a gender neutral word” in a completely different instance and blahaj mods banned them cuz “transphobic” lmfao
I just read through that, I can definitely see them banning OP and labeling all of this as transphobia/gatekeeping. I added the instance to my block list, not wanting to play random purity tests with bad faith mods
Haven’t checked it yet and tbh don’t even want to cuz if you would’ve seen the kind of comments on the same thing i posted on lemmyshitpost(i know, i’m still new to lemmy) even you wouldn’t dare to post stuff like that again

So it’s not out of the question they see this and think one is appropriating pride month
They didn’t say “dude is a gender neutral word” they said “anyone who doesn’t think dude is a gender neutral word needs to get over it”.
Dude is gender neutral in the same way that chicos is gender neutral.
