Canada doesn’t want to be responsible for that dumpster fire.
When I first started using Linux I was impressed with how easily everything seemed to work. Then over time I started to get annoyed with all the things that I had no idea how to fix without looking up, and thought about going back to Windows.
Then I used windows again and was immediately reminded of all the stupid bullshit I had to constantly fight with and forgot about because that was just the norm when windows is the only OS you ever use.
“It’s a shame anything has to change. The Sun has changed its position in the sky and I don’t trust it one bit.”
One approach is objectively better for the little guys than the other.
I’m a littler guy than any game company, Epic treats me like shit. So I’m not going to use Epic.
If my purchase on Epic helps the game reach $1 million in revenue then I am giving money to Epic.
Invested too much money
If Steam turns to shit I have no problems reacquiring my collection through Piracy. There is no sunk-cost here. Epic is actively anti-consumer so I refuse to use it.
so they can keep feeding a monopoly that licenses drm keys to them.
I guess I don’t understand Epic’s model. How is Epic different from Steam in this regard?
No they don’t, because I returned it before a shortage occured. They just lost the profit from rent.
That’s strange, the goal post was right here just a minute ago…
Whatever time period you had taken the rental car for was a time period that they could not have rented it to someone else. You can’t know until after the fact if there would have been a shortage in that time frame. There’s also the extra wear you have put on the car.
If you took a rental car for 5 minutes and returned it I doubt anyone would charge you with anything.
Have you tried sprinkling cinnamon on your ass?
If someone’s part of the “public” then its provided to them for 0$, thats the deal. If they are an adult in that area they might pay for it in taxes, but most places won’t limit access to local taxpayers. There is nothing underhanded happening there. Its provided for a group of people and those people use it within the guidelines setup for them.
Of course it is. I don’t know who you think you’re disagreeing with here.
Im sure you will have as little to say in your next reply but do try to actually make a point.
Interesting considering you had a lot to say without making any point at all. What exactly is the point you’re trying to make here?
Again, you need to actually read things before replying to comments. No one has said they were deceived. Where do you think you are right now?
So you don’t define theft as “someone taking something they didnt pay for or earn” then. Glad we agree.
Do people not literally have the crew on disk? There you go, they own it.
Well let me go back to 2005 and tell young me that I only own a license to WoW so I can say “no shit idiot” and slap my future self. If you were deceived that’s on you.
Which is it? Pick a lane.
Depends if you see theft as someone taking something they didnt pay for or earn
Ah, so children playing in the park is theft. (They didn’t pay for or earn it). Drinking from a creek is theft. Breathing air is theft. I quoted your post, I guess that is theft as well.
does not mean you are entitled to it.
I am not claiming they are entitled to it, I’m just saying it’s not theft.
Maybe read the post before replying to comments:
The company’s lawyers argued in that filing, reviewed by Polygon, that there was no reason for players to believe they were purchasing “unfettered ownership rights in the game.” Ubisoft has made it clear, lawyers claimed, that when you buy a copy of The Crew, you’re merely buying a limited access license.
Does the rental company now have one less car they can rent?
Does the developer now have one less license they can lease?
literally anything that’s not a “pay once license” (including leasing, renting, etc)
You can not steal something that it is impossible to own. It is possible to purchase and own a house or a car, someone choosing to lease or rent instead does not change that. It is impossible to purchase or own a copy of The Crew, so it cannot be stolen. You also cannot steal a hotel room, trespassing is a different crime than theft.
I believe there was also a scene in Sailor Moon where a character was in the bath. In order to make the water opaque the censors decided that red would be the best colour to use, so it looks like she’s bathing in blood.
That should have been foreseen. Why didn’t they just put something on with a G rating?
What does that mean?
Freedom of speech? People are being detained, arrested, and deported because they said things on their phones that are critical of the president.
Freedom of religion? People are being forced by law to follow the rules of “Christianity”.
Freedom of association? Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is being outlawed. Better not associate with minorities or “Libs” or you risk retribution.
Freedom to Travel? If you think being freely traveled to El Salvador counts…
Freedom of privacy? People are being harassed in bathrooms to “prove” their gender (how the hell do you do that?)
Life? People are being denied necessary life saving medical treatment due to that lack of Freedom from Religion we talked about earlier.
Liberty? People are being detained and deported without due process
Persuit of Happiness? LGBTQ people having their protections stripped away and need to hide who they are.
Other than the “freedom” to have people around you openly carrying deadly weaponry while shopping at a grocery store, what freedoms do Americans have that Canadians lack?
