? Even the USA often ignores their Constitution.
they make us fight and fight and fight until we are haggard and have no more fight in us. i hate them. Having others trying to control the group is natural. Accepting it without fighting back seems unnatural. Even wolf packs have been known to eliminate a mean-spirited leader.
One of my old dentists told that that I could not have my own paid-for x-rays and my do’s vet told me the same. So, I had to repay to get new ones and expose the body to my radiation. I avoid “experts” now. The feeling of being ripped off and disrespected makes me feel the need for another expert - A SHRINK!
so you have the ultra-cheap Mullvad service and it is fast enough for you? This is the same one where I can send in cash to Mullvad to pay - umm, the super-anonymous Mullvad VPN?
On a high quality flash drive, it will be decent. or, you can do the cheaper, more convenient way by installing Oracle’s free VirtualBox program and testing a bunch of distros. Be sure to try out as much of the software that a distro comes with as you can even if you dislike the distro itself. And, makes notes of the themes you like. I’d think an external drive might be a convenient option that can be used at work, at home, while visting your family in Kentucky…But, VMs are the cheapest and there is even software to clone a VM into an iso after you’ve customized it how you want it, then load the .iso onto a driveshaft to permanently install on “bare metal”.
Debian with KDE desktop. I prefer lighter DEs or WMs, but Debian is soooo stable and KDE looks so professional and makes it extremely easy to download packages - much easier than, say, Debian with XFCE which is what I use. When I set up linux on 2 old unused PCs for 2 coworkers after their computers died, I installed Debian with KDE and boss and coworkers were happy. Debian is the base of most distros, so sticking with Debian means more packages available usually and better tutorials and more stability. Even some foreign governments now use Debian as a base for their custom distros - China, too. I never had trouble getting Debian installed or running.
dpkg -l
I keep seeing videos of Youtubers quitting Arch. I love Debian and will probably mostly stay with it, but after using a few distros in a VM or flashdrive without systemd, I wish there was a really stable no-systemd distro.
must be all over the map. Long ago, in Atlanta, I heard the hourly wage in one county was fairly high, so was shocked by how low it was where I am now.
help people install Linux and set it up - show them how to use it. I’ve considered doing the same. I’d do the first ten installs and lessons for free just to get experience and referrals. I suppose you could buy good laptops cheaply online, load them up, make videos on YT, removedute, Odysee, etc. on how the system YOU set up works. Most of that has very little upfront costs. Are you being replaced by overseas tech support and/or cheap local imported labor?
Texas recently did something similar and now I cannot access porn or blood&gore websites. I personally think most porn is horrible for the mind and for relationships, but if “authorities” truly cared about kids, they’d be farrrrr harsher on the pervy perps they do catch - those targeting kids, but also any rapist or perv, because so many will choose a minor if that is what is easiest or most accessible even if a minor is not their preference. In some areas, there are over 100 rape kits waiting to be tested, but no money to test them. In some areas, there is also a 15 year maximum time limit on rape, so DNA for a 16 year old rape kit means nothing - cannot be used as proof or as a hint even that Joe Schmuck might have a pattern of rape going back years.
I disagree about telling an employer about instability in your life. they simply won’t take be understanding.
I am not homeless, but rent a room in a shared house. I prefer ethernet connections, but my landlord wouldn’t allow it and even removed the ethernet wall plug from an empty bedroom where I used it for 10 minutes to set up a raspberry pi. It wasn’t you, but the ethernet requirement.
What must’ve been a broken blood vessel or something that caused pain and swelling near the vagina…how, you say? Sitting cross-legged on my own bony heel and sometimes to fast and too hard so that the heel bone damaged something. It hurt so sit down for a week. It healed completely within 3 weeks, but, boy, was I scared to have to go to the doctor to have it looked at or worked on.
Ardens, I agree with trying to create your own password system - at least for your most commonly used things. My concept is a bit like this (don’t wanna give it all away): I keep at least 3 different emails and they have their own browser (Brave, Goanna engine (Palemooon or Basilisk), and Firefox, for example - ones with different engines) and I also use those browsers’ profile options for certain categories. Then, just so that i remember what I am using, I try to color-coordinate the browser’s theme and email theme. Ex: gold is for money/financial stuff and I use protonmail with an odd email name used for nothing else and I use a passphrase in a language I speak a tiny bit of. I assume that most company wesites have a minimum of 3 letters and I can either use the first 3 letters or the last 3 letters as part of my passphrase. If for my financial stuff, I can either add or multiple the numbers…if letter E is 5 and E is one of the letters, for financial, I can multiple by whatever number i choose but I stay consistent…so let’s say it is 3. Letter E is 5, so 5 x 3 = 15. If another letter in the company name is C and that corresponds to 3, then 3 x 3 = 9. And then there is a 3rd letter L which corresponds to 12, so 12 x 3 + 36. So, somewhere within my passphrase, instead of the ECL that is the company website’s name, I use 15936. I also must use a combo of caps and lowercase letters, at least one symbol. usually over 14 total characters and no more than 18 - because some websites set these rules. I can inject the number sequence anywhere I choose - maybe after the 3rd letter of my passphrase just so that I recall that number 3 as being for financial stuff. Example if my passphrase (in a different language) is mykiTTycatisythecutestintheworld =/becomes myk15936iTTycatisthecutestintheworld. Also, for common words such as is or the, swap that word out of symbols - in this example, the word “is” will become %$…so, myk15936iTTycat%$thecutestintheworld
I get tripped up for work passwords, though, because some employers force you to update your PW every 90 days. I usually just add a character and keep the rest the same…but, I can still get a bit forgetful.
me, too, but it only allows 2GB. If you plan to encrypt it for when you aren’t needing it, then you can only use half that as encryption doubles files. I’ve been wondering if Owncloud, NC’s close cousin, has a free account, too. I could use Owncloud for images, I guess.
