It is soo crazy that there are still Cinnamon, Budgie, XFCE, LXDE and basically LXQt with no Wayland support.

While KDE and GNOME have it literally for years.

Fedora has Wayland by default for GNOME since 25, which is 7 years ago!

LXQt is in theory usable but still shipped with XOrg. Cinnamon too, mainly XOrg, the Wayland session has issues like wrong keyboard layout (tried it). XFCE? No idea.

Nano is hella confusing too. Since when is ^ = Ctrl?

And why dont they tell you that Ctrl+S Ctrl+C Ctrl+X works?

Otherwise Konsole, Cosmic-Term or “ptyxis” are both fine

Looked at it, interesting, no package, installed cosmic-term instead

True one can install it on Mint. But at that level, just

• install Kubuntu
• add timeshift
• run unsnap (removes snap, installs flatpak and flathub, installs apps as flatpaks)
• add the new official deb repo for Firefox
• remove a possibly installed Firefox Flatpak (has missing sandboxing) and install with apt

Linux mint has no GNOME or KDE variant, so while they fix many Ubuntu issues, they are still on XOrg.
