    Relevant question: anyone know how to pronounce “yaoi?” In my head, it’s yowie, but that doesn’t feel right

      That’s pretty much it!

      If you want to be pedantic about it, it’s pronounced like

      Ya(cht) o(ar) ea(t)

      Or

      Ya(cht) o(ar) oui

      In American English. (Stop pronouncing the words at the parenthesis). Better to learn IPA for this sort of questions
