Be careful with pouring oil down your pipes, it might lead to either getting your oil pipes invaded by the US military on the basis of “potential weapons of mass destruction”, or the CIA to overthrow its democratically elected leader to be replaced with a fascist dictator willing to sell the oil to the US.
That’s how you get clogged pipes.
Yeah, best to use paper towels to soak up as much as possible and throw in the trash.
They won’t steal MY username… 😊
I have this compression software I need help maintaining, do you have time to help?
Sure thing! I am known for my regular, high quality and secure contributions to open source projects!
Now that’s a niche reference.
I just noticed a lil lizard on the wall in the background, cute.
Also yeah don’t pour oil down the drain it can cause clogs and it can ruin your pipes, especially if it’s hot.
all the people in the comments thinking this is some serious advice and isn’t just a silly character doing an objectively bad thing because it’s funny 😭
ew… i lik myself a gud plant…
Dont do this. This is how your sewer bill quadruples.
Instead, ask your local authority if they recycle Waste Cooking Oils and Fats. They can be used to make soaps, cosmetics, and biofuels.
My mom always poured used oil into empty cans (such as from canned beans or whatever). I never figured out what she did with them after.
You can also throw them out in the landfill.
That kitchen is a shitshow. Also: not down the drain! This is how you get “fatbergs” that will cause sewage to back up into your house. T-shirt should say “save the pipes!”
Where pour oil instead?
Like general_kitten@sopuli.xyz said, into bottles and recycle if you can. I’ve also had good results with:
- paper towels - this can take a lot, so reserve those mostly clean ones in a bag/bucket for later use
- sawdust in a small bucket that I keep in the garage - dump it into a trash bag and throw out once saturated
- Japanese cooking oil solidifier - this stuff is incredible and turns oil into a paste that is easier to throw out
into bottles and then put bottles into regular trash, there are also companies that recycle oil into biodiesel but i dont think they take regular consumer oil unfortunately
