Well 1:54:15 but I rounded up. My feet hurt.

If your feet hurt after two hours, you should consider getting new shoes.

It was a nice walk. :) The last 20 mintues were more dificult once my feet began to get fatigued.

I have been walking about 1.5 hours without any problems so I’ll probably go back to doing that.

I do what I call Long run Sunday funday.

During the week I do short runs, 2.4 to 3k each day or so, but then on Sunday I push put to 5k

I’ve done this for years on and off due to an injury.

At one point long run Sunday funday was a 10k run while regular runs were 5k.

I found that just doing one longer session a week allowed me to stretch it all out over time.

I’m currently walking in order to build up to light jogging. I began a few weeks ago so it might be a few more before I transition to jogging and then to running.

A few years ago I did a Zero to 10k and got to 4.5 miles in 13 weeks before I stopped. I’m hoping this time I won’t stop.

Yeah best advice I have is take it slow and if you’re hurting have a break.

A break today is better then a breakdown tomorrow

That’s true, I can be a little stubborn with exercise induced pain. I’ll go back down to 1.5 hours for a few more weeks. Thanks!

I need to walk more. I just sit too long for work and haven’t had a chance to work out my lungs or legs.

Getting a dog really improved my health. I walk her multiple times a day, get some sunshine, and I’ve met most of my neighbors now.

I got a walking pad and a sit stand desk for when I work from home. I make myself walk for at least an hour per work day on that. Then I try to get in another outdoor walk for 30-60 minutes as time allows.

My body isn’t terribly happy with me, but I’m struggling through for now. I need to try some better running shoes to see if that helps next.

You need better shoes. I like Atoms. I walked all throughout the pandemic while listening to podcasts (didn’t have a car and lived alone). They served me well.

For that long of a session I think I was wearing the wrong shoes. I was wearing training shoes instead of running shoes. I do have running shoes so I think that’s what I’ll wear next time.

I’ll look into the Atoms, thanks for the recommendation!

There were some people on horseback so I did a light jog to get around them faster. That was probably when that happened.

isn’t 3.4 quite fast ? at least on my walk pad 3.4 starts bordering jog territory

I can see you doing 3.4 as a brisk pace but for 2 hours it’s quite a lot of walking unless you’re built like an olympian

          That’s normal walking speed.

Heres my walking speed with 1000m (~3300 feet) elevation for over 7 hours. I walk faster than average, but im not particularily athletic or training for it, and I’m not bordering Jogging. I just go for a long walk every other weekend.

          5.5kmh is 3.4mph

It starts feeling like rushing at ~3.7mph

I walk at 3.2 for an over hour everyday ish. and I’m very new to walking (and also not fit) have been doing it for 5 months now.

You’re right I guess this is a pretty good reachable performance. 2 hours 3.4 mph. I’ll set that as a target for myself.

Wait wha. I walk 3,7 normally, with 4,6 in a rush. Like, it’s not slow but olympian?

I get folded by running 100m for comparison.

              Yes? You don’t?

This is my default walking speed. I acutally hurt my feet more when walking slower, because I am unused to it. When I tried to push myself somewhat, I went…okay, imma gonna use metric, can’t be bothered to convert, but 5,5 km averaging 7 km/h.

Imagine the flatest and straightest road you can think of. In my area there aren’t any interesting places to walk that I don’t need to drive to first. Starting and ending at my house is the easiest for me so that’s what I do.

Good job! Going to echo the other folks saying try a better set of shoes (though they’ll still need breaking in), but it’ll also get easier the more you do it.

I’m very excited it’s walking-without-air-hurting-my-face season again, I have a PB distance to beat this year :)

Very nice! My walk was shorter, only four miles, but I talked both my teens into joining me
